American automotive manufacturer Tesla recently revealed the pricing for its upcoming Tesla Model X electric sport utility vehicle on Sept. 2. The announcement was release online alongside the car's configuration.


According to Ars Technica, the Model X Signature model will cost $132,000 and if prospective buyers will opt in to avail all options it will fetch a price tag of $143,750. The prices mentioned will exclude tax rebates or any included incentives.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted, "With same options, Model X is $5k more than an S due to greater size & body complexity. Sig Series is fully loaded, hence high price."

The official Model X Signature car specs were posted on Tesla's website. The all-wheel drive car has a 90 kWh electric motor. It has an EPA rating of 240 miles and a 0-60mph acceleration of 3.8 seconds. The car's engine has an output power of 259 horsepower on front drive and 503 horsepower on the rear motor.  

The release of the Tesla Model X was delayed to due to extensive engineering needed in order to design the car's rear falcon doors. The car has a sitting capacity of seven passengers with seating configuration the same to other large seven-seater SUV.

According to Market Watch, the Tesla Model X has standard accessories like parking sensors, blind spot warnings as well as a hitch for carrying bikes or skis. The Signature model is equipped with autopilot, self-parking, automatic lane steering and a flat folding third row seat.

The Model X also has a sub-zero package which includes heated steering wheel along with a wiper-blade defroster.
