There is no confirmation as to whether the live action movie will be based on "Boruto: Naruto the Movie." However, it is confirmed that Lionsgate is in talks to have the movie copyrights for the manga created by Masashi Kishimoto.

According to Anime News Network, Kishimoto will be resting out of the fatigue after working on "Naruto" and will now go ahead with his new series.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" has been doing well since its release in 600 theaters in Japan on Aug. 7. The film has already earned $16.8 million (2.02 billion Japanese Yen).

Statistics show that the movie hit a blockbuster breakthrough of approximately $5.46 million within the first three days of its launch, making it the highest grossing opening of "Naruto" series and beating "The Last: Naruto the Movie," iDigital Times reported.

Manga creator Masashi Kishimoto is behind key elements of the film because he wrote the script, and he is in charge of character designs apart from being the chief supervisor of production.

The movie will be released in selected cinemas in America by Viz Media on Oct. 10, which happens to be Naruto's birthday. The launch will possibly be a big celebration for Naruto enthusiast in the United States as it will also mark the 15th anniversary of the Naruto franchise.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" focuses on the seditious Boruto, the young son of the Seventh Hokage of the Konoha Village, Naruto. Boruto's mission is to surpass his father and become a better shinobi. He ends up under the training of Sasuke, Naruto's greatest rival.
