Tabata told Game Informer that the concept of the driving feature in "Final Fantasy XV" was based on the idea of road movies, were in a group of friends are enjoying themselves and learn important things from their journey.

Square Enix wanted to share that kind of feeling for the gamers and since four characters are present in "Final Fantasy XV", players will have a clear idea of who they are as a person when the story progresses.

According to Tabata, the point of "Final Fantasy XV" is all about fans connecting to the characters based on their experiences and learn from them as they try to finish their journey. He futher explained that the car itself is just a secondary tool within the story.

The driving feature allows gamers to use Regalia to travel from one destination to another. Gamers can choose either automatic or manual controls. Automatic lets Ignis drive the car to the marked location as players can enjoy the scenary on the road and have conversations with Gladius, Prompto and Ignis.

Manual setting lets players drive the Regalia and they will notice that a gasoline marker is present on the screen. The gasoline marker will indicate how much gas they are using when driving Regalia. Like any other car, it will eventually lose gas and they must refill it on gas stations.

The new character Cindy will be providing maintenance work on the car by using a valet feature and gamers can adjust the camera settings when driving.

Square Enix has confirmed during the PAX Prime event that the launch date of "Final Fantasy XV" will be announced in March 2016 at a special event. Tabata clearly stated that the game will be out before the end of the year, Gamerant reported.

It was rumored that Tabata had other plans with a former "FFXV" character Stella, as Square Enix feels that she needed some changes and must be handled delicately.

Gamers have also showed interest of having "FFXV" on the PC platform as several people signed a petition from Change.Org asking Square Enix to reconsider the idea. The number of signatures is said to have reached over 13,000.

"Final Fantasy XV" will be released sometime in 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
