Stage fright is a dangerous bug which allows hackers to get access to the device very easily. An MMS message comes in the device in the form of a video, containing this virus. Once the user opens this video, the device gets infected, giving access to anyone who wants access to the user's information. Android Lollipop 5.1.1 was specially designed to fix this issue once and for all.

Apart from fixing this malicious virus, this upgrade will also step up the privacy of the device and introduce many anti-malware and smart lock features. It will also improve the material design and make the user experience a more enhanced one.

Other changes will include the introduction of sync device and device switch, along with enabling the users to use other devices with their Sony devices. There will also be many additional UI changes and control customizations including the icon size and connectivity enhancements. Alarm will now be added in the sound setting as well, and can be controlled using the volume rockers and other options.

Sony recently released a flash tool for this upgrade on its blog, and is planning to officially release the upgrade over the air soon.

Android Marshmallow may also be released for the Sony Xperia Z, Z1, Z2 Tablet, and Z2 variants. It is expected to increase the battery life and improve the user experience, according to GSM Arena.
