"Most Beautiful Family" representative Huang Chunhong beamed with pride as he witnessed China's grandest military parade since 1949 on Sept. 3 at the Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

"My heart was full of patriotic joy watching the unprecedented show of Chinese military might. I never felt such pride before (nowadays I serve in the Peoples' Liberation Army)," he enthused.

Huang also shared how he was a few miles away from Chinese President Xi Jinping when he delivered his keynote speech.

"It was the first time I met President Xi. I was so excited," he said.

The military parade was a commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People's War Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The event gathered a total of 12,000 troops of the PLA. Over 500 weapons and around 200 aircraft were showcased.

Stating that the parade is "an unforgettable event," he also described the occasion in three words: "pride," "shock" and "responsibility"

Huang is a member of what is regarded as the largest family of five generations in the municipality of southwest China's Congqing. Highly educated and well-mannered, he upholds the "Instructions of Huang Family."

Huang's family has had a long history of serving in the military. Throughout his early life, he has heard several stories of his relatives fighting against Japanese invaders.

A soldier himself, Huang remarked that the responsibility of keeping his country safe always makes him feel very patriotic.

"I only do what I should do, and hope to make spectacular achievements in this humble position," he said.
