The current smartphone market is severely overpopulated and manufacturers have to go to great lengths in order to stand out on top of the rest. The upcoming 2015 IFA conference in Berlin will showcase some of the latest and trendiest devices in the tech world and on this stage Sony is expected to unveil three models of its latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia.

First in line is the Sony Xperia Z5. The Xperia Z line of devices is known for its top quality design and high-end specs. The latest on this long line of device is the Z5 which sports an aluminum frame and a frosted glass feel, according to Digital Trends. The smartphone is also waterproof which is sure to attract quite a following.

In terms of specs, the Xperia Z5 packs a 5.2-inch LCD IPS display with 1080p resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset that includes 3GB of internal memory and 32GB of storage space. The microSD slot can be used for further storage expansion of up to 200GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and pack a powerful 2,900mAh battery.

In terms of camera specs, the Xperia Z5 is no pushover and boasts a 23-megapixel rear facing main camera and a 5-megapixel front facing secondary camera.

Sony is also planning to release the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium at the 2015 IFA conference. The smartphone shares the same specs as the standard Z5 aside from the upgraded display. According to Computer World, the Z5 Premium packs a 5.5-inch display capable of rendering Ultra-HD 4K resolutions. In order to support this powerful display, the Z5 premium also gets an upgraded 3,430mAh battery pack.

Finally the Xperia Z5 Compact, a powerful device packed in a small package. The smartphone has a smaller 4.6-inch display, phones whose display size are under 5 inches usually falls into the mid-tier market but not the Z5 Compact. The Compact supports 720p resolution, and has the same specs as the standard Z5 expect for a downgraded 2GB RAM and 2,700mAh.

The Compact drops the frosted glass and metal frame chassis in favor of high-quality and sturdier polycarbonate material. The Xperia Z5 Compact retains the powerful Snapdragon 810 chipset and the powerful camera's integrated in the standard Z5.

The Xperia Z5 will be released in October along with the Xperia Z5 Compact. On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 Premium will be released in November.
