Luxury automaker Bentley Motors recently unveiled the 2016 Bentayga. The luxurious SUV has been on development since 2012 and Bentley claims that it will be the most powerful, most luxurious, most exclusive and fastest SUV ever released in the market.
Bentley Motors chief executive officer Wolfgang Dürheimer told CNBC, "Bentayga is truly the Bentley of SUVs. It redefines luxury in the SUV sector and offers ta genuine Bentley experience in any environment thanks to a combination of unparalleled attention to detail, go-anywhere ability and cutting-edge technology."
The 2016 Bentayga was unveiled ahead of the 2015 Frankfurt Motor show which is usually the stage where most luxury automaker presents their latest creations.
The official price of the 2016 Bentayga is yet to be released but many industry experts claim that it will be one of the most expensive car in the SUV market.
According to USA Today, the luxurious SUV is aimed to be marketed for Middle East oil barons. The front-end of the 2016 Bentayga was specially designed to be able to approach sand dunes even at very sharp angles. Despite the bulky build, Bentley promised that the SUV will be fast due to extensive use of aluminum in order to significantly reduce the car's weight.
Under the hood, the Bentayga boasts a 600-horsepower 12-cylinder engine enough to reach zero to 60 miles-per-hour in four seconds flat. The engine is capable of outputting 663 foot-per-pounds worth of torque. The SUV also has an eight-speed automatic drive chain.
The 2016 Bentayga's top speed is reported to be 187 mph. By comparison, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has a top speed of 177 mph and the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 S AMG has a top speed of 174 mph.
