Tech giant Apple recently announced that its upcoming operating system update, iOS 9.1, will include a new set of emojis. Apple included the new set of emoji as part of the latest Unicode specification in iOS 9.1 beta which was released exclusively for developers.

According to Emojipedia, the new set of emoji will include smileys, weather emojis, sports emojis and more. On the smiley category, among the newly included emojis are the rolling eyes, hug, money-mouth face, upside-down face, thinker and nerd. The weather category was combined with animals which includes a lion and unicorn emoji. The sports category will include volleyball, weight lifting, archery, golf, ice skating and skiing.

Several reports claim that the new set of emoji will contain a racecar, prayer beads, medals and satellites. Apple is also planning to release emojis based on the Unicode 1.1 which was first released way back in 1993. Among the rumored inclusion will be the Comet and Yin Yang.

Perhaps the most shocking addition is the middle finger emoji. According to Venture Beat, only a handful of emojis can express the feeling of extreme frustration. Many believe that no emoji can express more anger or rage than the middle finger emoji, regardless of the skin tone used.

Apple has yet to announce when the new emojis will be released. On the other hand, iOS 9 is scheduled to roll out on Sept. 16. The update will contain a handful of new emoji flags. The iOS 9.1 update which will include all the mentioned emoji above does not have an official release date yet. However, experts on the matter believe that Apple will release it in November.
