The LG-manufactured Google Nexus 5 2015, also known as Nexus 5X, is up for deployment with Nexus Protect, which a new report said is similar to the Apple Care that comes with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. It is unclear though if the new Nexus package offers the same gadget protection extended by Apple.

According to Android Police, Nexus Protect appears now mandatory for every new purchase of the Motorola-made Nexus 6 via Google Play Store, leading to speculation that the likely device insurance program will also be part of the upcoming Nexus 5 2015. The report did not discuss the specific coverage of Nexus Protect but it should basically ensure handset replacement during the protection period.

It appears too that Google is implementing Nexus Protect for all its devices judging from the following text unearthed by Android Police: "You can't add this phone unless it has the same Nexus Protect choice as other phones in your cart. You can update your choice or purchase this phone in your next order."

This indicates that all gadget purchases from the Play Store - Nexus phones, Chromebooks and Android Wear - will be bundled with the new Google protection. The tech giant, however, has yet to comment on the matter, Android Police said.

But it is highly likely that Nexus Protect will be officially announced with the Nexus 5X unveiling. Rumors say it will happen before the reported Nexus 2015 debut at the Play Store on September 29. The expectation is Google will start selling the sub-flagship 5.2-inch Nexus 5X as well the bigger Nexus 6 2015 that is believed to come from Huawei.

Deemed as the more premium of the two Nexus 2015s, the Huawei Nexus is rumored as a metal-clad device that will boast of a 5.8-inch screen with AMOLED display technology. Powering it is Snapdragon 820 with up to 4GB of RAM.

The kit, however, will not rollout with the Nexus 5X as Neurogadet claims in a new report that the boosted Nexus 6 will not be seen until the early months of 2016. No explanation was offered for the delay but it is likely that the main cause is the use of the SD 820 chip, which Qualcomm said will only be ready for mass delivery next year.

As for Google's release date plans for the LG Nexus 5 2015 or Nexus 5X, Slash Gear is saying in a new report that the vanilla Android smartphone will unboxed with only 2GB of RAM instead of the 3GB RAM earlier reported. The color options so far revealed are black and white with Android 6.0 Marshmallow running the show.
