Although hesitant at first, Vazquez gained contact with her birth parents and siblings when she travelled to Korea and contacted the agency in Seoul that managed her adoption.

Her mother, Park Hee Soon, claimed that when she gave birth to Vazquez, but her mother-in-law said that the baby is stillborn. She had no idea that the child was put up for adoption.
