When Emma Watson was cast as Belle in "Beauty and the Beast," fans of the "Harry Potter" star rejoiced. One question, however, continues to hunt fans of the Disney classic: Can she really sing?

Speaking to MTV, Luke Evans, who plays Gaston in the live action adaptation, called Watson a "triple threat." He confirmed that the actress had a "great singing voice" and was the perfect choice for the role. Evans gushed about Watson at the recent Toronto International Film Festival, saying that she is more than just a Disney princess.

He held that he admired Watson for using her voice for women. Evans added that Watson may be delicate to look at, but she is a "strong and feisty" woman.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Movie'n'Co UK,  Watson shared that she will be performing three new songs especially written for her by Allan Menken. The actress added that she had a lot of fun singing even if she has never done it in front of a huge crowd before.

The cast of "Beauty and the Beast"  reportedly went on several weeks of rehearsal before shooting a musical number. Evans revealed that his big number, "Gaston" took more than five weeks to rehearse.

The actor, however, said that everything was worth it when he saw the final number. He shared that he and Josh Gad (LeFou) were very proud of the work they put in.

"It was very sad when we finished the scene, because it felt that we'd shot a whole damn movie in the time," he said.
