"Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow said that "Jurassic World 2" is going to be larger than its predecessor.
In his interview in a "Jurassic World" podcast (via Coming Soon), Trevorrow said that "Jurassic World 2" was not going to be about more dinosaurs or bigger and better dinosaurs, as fans saw in his hit film "Jurassic World."
The filmmaker pointed out that the "Jurassic World" sequel will serve as a foundation on a much larger story on the relationship between man and the dinosaurs. Trevorrow added that it unfolds the dynamic force bringing them back to life has made.
"Jurassic World 2" is based on a line cited by Dr. Alan Grant, who was play by Sam Niell in Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" in 1993. "Dinosaurs and man, separated by 65 million years of evolution have been thrown back into the mix together. How can we know what to expect?," Grant said in Spielberg's film.
In the contrary, Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" was grounded on a line uttered by Dr. Ian Malcom, who was played by Jeff Goldblum in Spielberg's 1993 "Jurassic Park." In the film, Malcom said "You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you wanna sell it."
Trevorrow also mentioned that "Jurassic World 2" will be a "different kind" of film, with the audience allowing them to take the story to a higher bar. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively, in the film. The "Jurassic World" director also said that the character's involvement to the events in "Jurassic World 2" will be different from its predecessor.
At this point, it is assumed that "Jurassic World 2" will leave the island behind and gear into the future, as per Den of Geek.
With "Jurassic World 2" in its early stage of development, exact details on the plot, characters, and cast are yet to be revealed.
