The cause of the delay is unknown but speculations point toward the rumored live-action adaptation that is in development. Reportedly, Lionsgate is already holding negotiations to obtain the rights from Creator Masashi Kishimoto, 40, for the live-action adaptation.

According to Three Ifs By Space, the man behind the comic book sensation will have a series of special appearances at the New York Comic Con to grace the occasion for the screening of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie."

Viz Media in collaboration with The Japan Foundation and ReedPOP will put up an exhibit in booth number 1346. They will offer manga and anime franchises for sale during the entire event that will take place in Javits Center in Manhattan from Oct. 8 to Oct. 11.

Furthermore, sponsors will hold a pair of exclusive autograph sessions with Kishimoto and in-store appearances in Barnes & Noble Tribeca and Kinokuniya Bookstore. The manga genius will spearhead a special panel that will look at his work in the "Naruto" series.
