According to her, these kinds of reunions could only signify that the hit ABC series will end sooner or later.

Luckily, "Scandal" was picked up for a fifth season so fans could see more of Olivia and President Fitz's sweet and steamy moments.

Meanwhile, Washington also dished on how her character's relationship with the president would work considering that they have decided to stay away from each other in the previous seasons.

"They get to discover what that means, what's it like with all that tension of not being able to be together. What will it be like for them?" she said.

In other news, "Scandal" season 5 premiered with an episode that centered on Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young).

In "Heavy is the Head," President Fitz handed their divorce papers to Mellie. Although their marriage has been falling apart for the past couple of years, Mellie did not expect that President Fitz will make such a decision.

There are speculations that Mellie will do everything in her power to make sure that their divorce would not be finalized. There is a possibility that she will work with Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry), who she had an emotional conversation with in season 5 episode 1.

"Scandal" season 5 airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
