Thor becomes possessed in one of the deleted scenes in Joss Whedon's Marvel Comics film "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
The deleted scene, which involved Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, is one of the most baffling scenes in Whedon's film, according to Cinema Blend. It shows Thor with Dr. Erik Selvig, who is played by Stellan Skarsgard, as they arrive in a mysterious cave.
The Norse god of Thunder told Selvig that he would dip into the pool and let The Norns to possess him. The Norns are the cinematic adaptation of the Three Fates from the mythology. Then, Selvig asked questions about the Mind Stone to The Norns, who answer through Thor.
The Norns explained the background of the Infinity Stones and their impact to the world, giving Selvig and Thor the essential information that led to rise of The Vision and Ultron's decline.
According to Cinema Blend, the sequence had lack of visual effects, along with its confusing nature, which left the audience baffled during its advanced screenings. Thus, the production team reportedly replaced it with a literal vision of the Infinity Stones.
While the scene was more visual, the deleted scene is still more contextual to the film and helpful to connect the events in the future of Marvel's Cinematic Universe in its Phase Three, as per Superhero Hype.
Following his roles in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor," Alan Taylor's "Thor: The Dark World," and Whedon's "The Avengers" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as Thor the Norse god of thunder in Marvel's upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok."
Aside from his superhero films, Hemsworth is also set to appear in a number of projects, including Ron Howard's action adventure "In the Heart of the Sea," Cedric Nicolas-Troyan's action adventure "The Huntsman," and Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters" film reboot.
Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 3, 2017. Meanwhile, Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits the market on Blu-Ray and DVD on Oct. 2. Watch the deleted movie clip here:
