The State Council has released on Tuesday, Sept. 29, a new guideline aimed at enhancing the connection between online and offline businesses and is expected to strengthen market growth, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

Under the guideline, the government provided its support for physical stores to promote and sell their products and services on the Internet, encouraging them to improve delivery and after-sale services to enhance consumer experience.

The government also urged stores to maintain 24-hour interactions with consumers.

According to the report, China has pledged to speed up the use of mobile Internet, big data, Internet of Things and cloud computing, as well the use of the Beidou Navigation System, positioning, and biological identification in authentication, transaction, payment and logistics.

Internet companies are encouraged by the government to partner with physical stores to strengthen the advantages through their combined efforts. To improve resources allocation and increase logistics efficiency, commodity trade centers will be introduced to e-commerce and modern logistics.

The report said that export-oriented logistics companies also received government support to enable them to build warehouses overseas and nurture the development of cross-border e-commerce.

In addition, China will pursue the online-offline connections in businesses related to people's daily life, such as traffic, tourism, catering and entertainment.

The government has also expressed plans to expand e-commerce and logistics to more rural area as it tries to make commerce smarter in cities.

To ease up online-offline commerce connection, it also vowed to reduce government approvals and cut red tapes and provide fiscal and financial support.
