Verizon launched its free, ad-supported Go90 mobile streaming service in Google Play and the App Store on October 1, Thursday, with a target market of Millennials and Generation Z consumers. The app, which supports on-demand and live content including TV shows, sports events, music concerts, and comedy performances, was unveiled with 8,000 titles and several original series.

Verizon sent invitations to 5 million of its customer before Go90's unveiling in September, according to Android Headlines. The nationwide carrier's subscribers will get exclusive content and 2 gigabytes of extra data.

Verizon launched 35 original series for the mobile app. It has plans to double that figure by the end of this year.

Go90 will provide on-demand and live content. That includes NCAA basketball and football games, global soccer, and live music and comedy performances.

The video streaming service's lineup will include several titles. They include hit shows from ESPN, Discovery, MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, HGTV, and Food Network.

Meanwhile, Go90's original content includes a daily live show entitled "Top Five Live," according to PC Mag. It will recap trending moments in online culture.

The mobile app will also allow users to stream live concerts each month. However, it is still being beta-tested.

Go90 app's users can follow their favorite celebrities and friends, and join or make a "crew." They can also share their favorite video clips by using text, email, Twitter, or Facebook.

Go90's architect Brian Angiolet said that Verizon's programmers and engineers have worked hard to create a unique video experience. It bridges traditional and digital content providers.

Verizon competitor Comcast launched Watchable earlier this week. The video service is available on platforms including Comcast's X1 DVR, the Web, and iOS.

Go90's mobile streaming service's name refers to flipping a mobile phone 90 degrees. Videos then appear in landscape mode.
