The Kevin Feige Q & A has given us a hint of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe possibly including the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

This was one of the biggest takeaways from the recently concluded Q & A with the Marvel Studios' head honcho. He was joined by producer Jeremy Latcham during the release of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" DVD/Blu-ray.

Slash Film was at the event and witnessed the Q & A live. Their very own Peter Sciretta was fortunate to also ask questions during the interview where he recognized that Feige's words contained more clues to the future of the MCU than initially believed.

In an article which he published recently, Scrietta posted his speculations on a post on Slash Film's site as one of their writers.

In it, he discusses Feige's answer to a question about their plans for movies where they suddenly insert a big character like Spider-Man to stories that have already been set earlier without him in the mix.

"Captain America: Civil War" had been close to going into production before the deal between Sony and Marvel brought Spidey to the MCU. Despite the deal getting done late in the game, directors Joe and Anthony Russo were still able to include the Wall-crawler in the movie.

Feige said that they "had contingency plans" in place for their movies where they could go in a certain direction if they got "the rights to a certain character" and if they don't they could go in another direction.

He concludes his answer by saying that that's the way they always "operate with those alternate timelines available," a dead giveaway that discussions with the other studios are going on behind the scenes.

In this case, it tells us that Marvel is most likely engaging in talks with Fox to perhaps strike a deal similar to the one they finalized with Sony.

If such a deal were to take shape, Fox will continue to have the rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four but Marvel has creative control on the plot, casting, and many others while incorporating those characters into the MCU.

In Feige's words, they have contingency plans should they get the movie rights to characters which they do not own, specifically, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

ComicPlanetCultureForLife.com had reported the rumor two months ago that Marvel and Fox were in discussions for an Avengers vs. X-Men film in 2020.

Such a movie can only take place if the two studios, which had been at odds for some time, were to shake hands on a deal to share their characters, again like the Sony/Marvel arrangement.

While these are still speculations at the moment, don't be surprised to find out later on that Marvel and Fox are talking about such a pact being formed.

The result will be a team-up of humongous proportions that will net a formation of alliances between the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four on the big screen.
