The new James Bond movie "Spectre" takes action to the next level by destroying as many as seven Aston Martins and a range of other cars worth a record sum of $37 million. The British Secret Service agent did not blink twice while he smashed up the cars for a very short scene filmed in Rome.

In an interview with Daily Mail, "Spectre" chief stunt co-coordinator Gary Powell said "We set the record for smashing up cars on Spectre. In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film."

According to Maxim, the cars were specially crafted for the 007 spectacular which were even equipped with the well-known ejector seats. The list included some of the celebrated car brands in the world namely, Aston Martin DB10s, Land Rover Defenders and Jaguar C-X-17 navigated by the villains.

It was all a part of the script which required destroying these specially built swanky vehicles on purpose. The film's estimated budget was $300 million and a major portion went into designing the cars.

The car demolishing scene which was reportedly shot alongside the Vatican, the Colosseum and the Tibet river, features the British super-spy Bond, once again played by Daniel Craig. Craig is seen steering his Aston Martin chased by Mr. Hinx played by Dave Bautista, his rival in his supremely powerful Jaguar C-X75.

For all the Bond fans, Spectre hits the silver screen on Nov. 6.
