With barely a week before "The Witcher 3" DLC Hearts of Stone launches, developer CD Projekt Red released an interesting trailer featuring some scenes from the expansion.

The trailer shows a couple of otherworldly encounters for hero Geralt, where he will now have to face Olgierd von Everc, the immortal man. Everec is said to be a bandit captain, and the players will be in control of how they will face the situation, GameSpot reported.

These could include being the smarter player to win with wits against the ever-living man or even recruiting artists for a break-in. The expansion also introduces a new system that will affect some of the mechanics of the way players can go through the world, though the developer did not specify how.

Everec is an interesting character himself, as seen in the trailer. It's hard to miss his very peculiar state, where after Geralt slashed off his head, he merely pulled it back after a slow clap. In "The Witcher 3" Hearts of Stone expansion, players will also meet the Man of Glass, who will provide Geralt with the quests.

The entire journey in creating "The Witcher 3" has been a long journey, and one that the developer fans to enjoy every step of the way. CD Projekt Red revealed some of the things that the team had gone through during the creation process in an interview with Kotaku. According to "The Witcher 3" Senior Writer Kuba Szamalek, the main thing that the developer wanted was to make the fans feel that every step, every mission, and every side quest had an interesting story to tell.

"We didn't just start with  huge world and go, 'well, let's see how we can fill this one up,' This probably helped us to not end up with a world that feels artificially bloated just for the sake of size," said Szamalek to the publication.

He added that during the creation process, the content of the quest came first. This then became the foundation on which the designers built the world of "The Witcher 3." What's more, everyone in the team was able to pitch an open world quest in the game.

"The Witcher 3" Hearts of Stone DLC will release on Oct. 13. However, this is not the last expansion for the title, as there is still another one, titled Blood and Wine coming next year.
