HP announced its lineup of devices aimed for the holiday seasons on Oct. 8. The company unveiled desktop, laptop and tablet PC lineup. Perhaps the one that got the most attention is the new HP Envy 8 Note which is a tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard.
Based on latest releases from major manufacturers, it seems that tablet PC with detachable keyboard is the latest trend. Google released the Pixel C, Microsoft released the Surface Book, VAIO released the Z Canvas and now HP is joining the foray with its own Envy Note 8.
According to The Verge, The Envy Note 8 sports an 8-inch display screen with 1920 x 1200 full HD resolution. The tablet is only 7.7mm thick and weighs in at 0.8 pounds.
The Envy Note 8 is powered by a quad-core 1.44GHz Intel Atom X5-Z8300 processor and backed by an Intel HD Graphics card which should be powerful enough to handle 1080p HD content streaming.
The tablet comes with a stylus. Pressing the button on the stylus launches the Instant Note app. Notes taken on the Envy Note 8 are directly saved into OneNote and can be accessed through the HP Notes Hub.
HP claim that the Envy Note 8 can last more than six hours on a single charge under normal use. The tablet has a 5-megapixel rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It also has a SIM card slot and it supports 4G LTE network.
The most interesting feature of the Envy Note 8 is the optional 10-inch Envy Note Keyboard Folio. It is a full sized keyboard with a one-piece click pad. It also has a slot that can hold the Envy Note 8 in either landscape or portrait mode.
According to PC Mag, the HP Envy Note 8 is expected to be released on Nov. 8. The tablet with the stylus will sell for $329 while the tablet, stylus and keyboard folio bundle will cost $429.
