Vizio is pushing the boundaries of 4K televisions after the company announced the new Reference Series. Vizio also unveiled two models on its initial launch, a 65-inch model and a 120-inch model both capable of displaying 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Vizio is known in the industry as the company that sells some of the most affordable 4K TVs with impeccable quality. However, Vizio is breaking its own price range tradition on its latest release as the Reference Series' 65-inch model costs $6,000 while the 120-inch model costs $130,000.

Despite their hefty price tag, buyers are assured that they are top quality. According to Mashable, Vizio partnered with Dolby Vision in order to significantly upgrade the color quality of the Reference Series. With Dolby Vision technology, Vizio TVs will offer the best color quality currently available in the market.

Dolby Vision is a super-powered high dynamic range technology. It has an expanded color gamut that requires movies as well as TV shows to be remastered.

Dolby Vision has a color reproduction close to the Rec 2020 color space. Most high definition TVs uses the more limited Rec 709 color space, according to Wired.

Employing the power of Dolby Vision, the Vizio Reference Series is expected to deliver deeper, richer and more lifelike colors.

A handful of movies remastered in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision HDR can be streamed to Reference Series TVs via Vudu. The list includes "The Great Gatsby," "Mad Max: Fury Road," "Man of Steel," and "Magic Mike XXL."

Netflix is also planning to stream 4K contents with Dolby Vision HDR. First in line is the first season of "Marco Polo."
