Marvel's upcoming superhero film "Black Panther" may have found its screenwriter.

According to The Wrap, "Amber Lake" writer Joe Robert Cole is in talks to pen the film script. Aside from the drama thriller film "Amber Lake," Cole is also known for the action sci-fi "Revoc." It would not be Cole's first time to pen a script for Marvel because along with "Black Panther," Cole is also set to be the screenwriter of the forthcoming action sci-fi film "Inhumans."

When "Selma" director Ava DuVernay was considered to helm "Black Panther," it was reported that Marvel was holding off until a script was finished. But then, DuVernay passed the film to another filmmaker due to the fact that "Black Panther" was going to involve her in possible multiple sequels. According to Cinema Blend, though there was a concrete plan for the film, the script itself would be crucial.

Meanwhile, Chadwick Boseman is set to play the iconic web-slinger in the solo "Black Panther" film. But prior to that, he will debut the character in Marvel's Cinematic Universe in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's forthcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War," which centers on the release of the Accords. It is released by the government to limit superheroes from using their powers.

Black Panther is set to team up with Iron Man's team, which includes Black Widow, War Machine, and The Vision. They are against Captain America's team, which includes Hawkeye, Falcon, Agent 13, and Ant-Man. Spider-Man is also set to appear in the film; however, no information yet as to which side he is in.

Aside from Boseman, "Black Panther" also stars "Avengers: Age of Ultron" actor Andy Serkis. Along with from Cole, "Straight Outta Compton" filmmaker F. Gary Gray is rumored to helm the film. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige is set to produce the film.

The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to premiere on May 6, 2016. Meanwhile, Gray's "Black Panther" is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
