"The Martian" director Ridley Scott has shared what fans can expect in his upcoming adventure mystery sci-fi film "Prometheus 2."

In his interview with Awards Campaign to promote his space sci-fi film "The Martian," Scott said that "Prometheus 2" was going to be different from its predecessor, since the characters would go to the planet of the Engineers and discover that the area had been a disaster as they explore it. The director added that they would be in an alien craft, along with a new group of travelers in the first part of the film.

Meeting another group of humans in the film's storyline would be interesting, according to Cinema Blend. Set on a moon far away, Shaw and David from the first film set off into space via an alien ship. It is a coincidence for the two sets of characters to meet at one point in a large space, as the moon is more than millions of miles afar from Earth and this distance took them years of travelling.

"Prometheus 2" stars Benedict Wong, Emun Elliott, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Noomi Rapace, among others.

With Scott helming the film, "Green Lantern" writer Michael Green is on board to pen the script of the film. Since Scott's "Prometheus 2" is in its early phase of development, exact details on the plot, additional characters, and cast members are yet to be revealed.

Scott's "Prometheus 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 30, 2017 while "The Martian" is showing in theaters.
