The new update is rolled out in phases and it comes with several improvements. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update brings tweaked Material Design UI, better battery life and improved security. Users can check the Samsung product support web page here (Galaxy Note 4) and here (Galaxy Note Edge).

The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update should fix many problems that were found in Android 5.0 Lollipop, therefore, users should be getting a more improved performance out of their handset.

Android 5.1.1 update notification should soon appear on a user's Galaxy Note Edge or Galaxy Note 4 handset only if it runs stock Android on it. Also, according to reports, no handsets that run custom ROMs or any other types of customizations will be updated through official channels.

The Android 5.1.1 lollipop update will reach all AT&T Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 4 handsets; however, it may take some time and users should wait patiently until that happens.

Also, users can go to Settings> About Phone> Software Updates and hit the 'Check for Updates' menu to check if there are any new Android 5.1 files ready for download. Users should confirm the download process and then wait for their device to finish the Android 5.1.1 installation automatically.

Furthermore, according to reports, the South Korean company is likely to introduce the Android Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5 by the end of 2015 and then may follow up for the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note Edge. Reports also suggest that the tech company is less likely to bring any notable improvements other than what the search giant Google has provided.
