New manager Jürgen Klopp is reportedly ready to restore Liverpool to the Premier League's top echelon soonest as he targets his former Borussia Dortmund player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, for £35 million when the winter transfer window opens this January.

The 48-year-old German, who was signed to a three-year deal last week by the Anfield giants to take over from sacked coach Brendan Rodgers, admitted that it would take time before the Reds could go back to being an unstoppable force in England.

Klopp even told reporters during his introductory press conference that he is "no miracle worker" and "progress is not possible without a bit of time," as reported by the Daily Express.

With that, the former Mainz 05 striker seems to not want to waste any time rebuilding by targeting one of the best goal scorers in Germany right now, Aubameyang, as early as next year.

The 26-year-old Gabonese striker had worked with Klopp during his whole career with Die Borussen since 2013 when he was signed for £10 million from Ligue 1 club St. Etienne.

From there, he had developed into one of the most reliable attackers in Bundesliga. He is not only a scorer but also a willing passer and playmaker and Klopp would like to bring out all his strengths in the English top-flight.

Metro indicated that Aubameyang is primed for a Premier League transfer this winter and some reports have even noted that the Gabon international is also keen in playing for his former boss.

Aubameyang had been solid for Bundesliga's second-running BVB this season, scoring 10 goals in eight games so far.
