UFC fighter and actress Ronda Rousey has shared her thoughts on a potential Captain Marvel role in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

Rousey is set to star with "Lone Survivor" star Mark Wahlberg in Peter Berg's forthcoming action film "Mile 22." In her interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rousey said she was really hoping to do her first starring role along with Wahlberg. On Oct. 1, Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige told IGN during the recent "Avengers: Age of Ultron" question and answer event that he liked the thought of Rousey playing the role of Captain Marvel and he thought that it was an evidence to the strong points of Marvel's characters.

Feige also said that before the emergence of the internet and social media platforms like Twitter, people who had stated their wish of playing a certain character had been brought out in printed media, such as the Wizard Magazine. For Marvel Studios' Head, such circumstances were proofs of how great the characters were that a wide-ranging spectrum of people wanted to play them in films.

Rousey has appeared in Patrick Hughes' action thriller film "The Expendables 3," James Wan's action thriller "Furious 7," and Doug Ellin's comedy film "Entourage." Aside from Berg's upcoming "Mile 22," Rousey is also set to appear in Nick Cassavetes' action film "Road House."

In the comics, Carol Danvers started as a member of the Air Force. But then, her exposure to the flare-up of an alien (Kree) device led her human genes to mix with the Kree genes. It gave her powers, such as super strength, speed, and agility, in addition to flight abilities and energy manipulation.

Aside from Rousey, Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jennifer Lawrence have been attached to the role; however, Marvel is yet to announce the one who will don Danvers' suit.

Marvel's "Captain Marvel" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 8, 2019 while Berg's "Mile 22" hits theaters in 2016.
