"Crimson Peak" director Guillermo del Toro has expressed his interest in helming a remake of the Stephen Classic "Pet Sematary."
Director del Toro tweeted a post on his official Twitter account on Oct. 16. His post featured King's "Pet Sematary" as the director's "Book of the Day." The filmmaker described the classic work as "Unrelenting dark and emotional. Compulsive reading." Director del Toro also added in his caption that he "would kill to make it on film." Overall, his tweet generated more than 700 favorites and more than 300 re-tweets.

Starring Dale Midkiff, Denise Crosby, and Fred Gwyne, among others, the film centered on a young family's home in Maine, which had a secret that holds a power of life after death. The film had a sequel in 1992, entitled "Pet Sematary II," which starred Edward Furlong, Anthony Edwards, and Clancy Brown, among others. Director del Toro is the sort of visionary who could actualize things, as per Slash Film. The filmmaker is positive that "Pacific Rim: Maelstorm" was still happening. He was also preparing "Silver" and he would sometimes talk about "Hellboy 3" and "At the Mountains of Madness." The director even has "Crimson Peak" coming to theaters. According to Cinema Blend, this is the system on how modern film remakes should be done. With del Toro's interest in doing the film remake and King's praise on the former's forthcoming "Crimson Peak," they might have at least discussed the possibility of the film's rebirth decades since it had hit the big screen. With the "Pet Sematary" remake as del Toro's vision, whether it will push through, along with the exact details on the plot, characters, and cast are yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, del Toro's "Crimson Peak" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Oct. 16.
