Eleven kinds of traditional Beijing snacks will be dished out to the attendees from APEC's different member countries. Among these are royal wotou (steamed corn bun), bingtanghulu (crispy sugar-coated haws on sticks), yundoujuan (kidney bean roll), wandouhuang (Beijing sweet peas pudding), and lvdagunr (glutinous rice rolls with sweet bean flour).

The delegates will also be served dishes from five continents, including Russian braised beef, American chicken salad, fruits from Australia, spicy noodles from Singapore, dumplings from north China, beggar chicken from south China, nut cakes from Xinjiang and pancakes from Shandong.

Ingredients for the local delicacies have been sourced from domestic suppliers handpicked by the conference committee, while those for the foreign dishes have been procured through reliable international suppliers.

Food safety for the APEC has been ensured through the China Food and Drug Administration's checking and monitoring.

About 73,000 people will be served during the week-long summit, with 142 meals to be prepared at the China National Convention Center.
