China Fashion Week ended on Nov. 2, recognizing leading Beijing designers with Gioia Pan receiving the Top Award, the highest fashion design award in China, according to Women of China.
Hailing from east China's Taiwan Province, Pan is also dubbed the "Kitting Queen."
Aside from the Top Award, other recognitions were also awarded, including Best Fashion Commentator, Best Fashion Photographer, Top Ten Fashion Designers, Top Ten Brands and Top Ten Fashion Models.
Among the recognized models were Li Weiyu and Hao Yunxiang, who was named the Best Fashion Model.
Opening on Oct. 25 in Beijing, the 2015 S/S China Fashion Week showcased 66 new styles for the 2015 spring and summer collections, which included 63 special fashion shows and three professional contests.
According to the China Fashion Week Organizing Committee, 44 of the 68 Chinese fashion designers and 15 foreign designers who attended the event were first-timers. Also, 110 new designers took part in the fashion show.
The event set a new record for attendance, making it one of the best fashion weeks in the history of the Asia-Pacific region.
Both Chinese and foreign companies supported the fashion week with 88 designer brands releasing their latest collections. This accounts for a 33-percent increase in participation from the previous session.
Throughout the nine-day event, 22 brands from Korea, Japan, Italy, Britain, Russia and Denmark held fashion shows.
In collaboration with Chinese online superstore dangdang.com, the China Fashion Association also launched a new commercial platform called DHUB, which aims to support young designers and promote the marketing of designs.
Another highlight of the China Fashion Week was a new fashion trend by the QIAODAN Yin Peng Sports Wear Collection featuring a variety of designer respiratory face masks exhibited by models as they strutted down the catwalk, Think Progress reported.
The items are similar to the high-fashion face masks displayed at the 2014 Paris Fashion Week by Chinese designer Masha Ma.
The next China Fashion Week will run from March 25 to 31, 2015, for the 2015/2016 autumn/winter collection.
