Shanghai welcomed over 2,000 exhibitors to the 16th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) on Tuesday. For five days, the participants will showcase various technological projects under the new eco-friendly trend as well as intelligent equipment for everyday living. 

From Nov. 4 to 8, leading industrial companies will present their innovative ideas through demonstrations at the Shanghai International Expo Center.

Some of the highlights of the event include the Robotics Show, the New Energy Auto Show, the Scientific and Technological Innovation Show and the China Aerospace and Aviation Technology Show.

Organizers of the show include the National Development and Reform Commission; the Chinese Academy of Science and Engineering; China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; and the Ministries of Commerce, Industry and Information Technology, and Science and Technology in cooperation with the China Machinery Industry Federation.

Panasonic, a Japan-based leading industrial company that attended the Robotics Show during the affair, showcased three of the most sought-after technologies in terms of motion control such as sensors, PLCs and laser markers.

Several world-renowned automobile producers also exhibited their latest products, including BMW's electric i3 automobile, which went on display together with its high-class battery charger.

The province of Anhui, which has been attending the affair for nearly a decade, was represented by Deputy Governor Yang Zhenchao during the opening ceremonies.

Anhui also sent samples of their new energy vehicles such as pure E-sedans, hybrid sedans, E-buses and many others.

Other companies also featured some unique and innovative motor technologies, including a sleek-looking amphibious aircraft and a Mars exploration vehicle that runs on solar energy.

The Shanghai Electric also displayed its one-of-a-kind solar electric generating system that includes solar panels shaped like sunflowers.

Meanwhile, the German KUKA Robotics company, one of the top manufacturers of industrial robots and factory automations, displayed its multi-functional and assembly line robots that even demonstrated passing of objects to each other.
