A mysterious space junk called 'WFT' is on its way to collide with Earth, but experts have no idea what it is and how it was propelled into the trajectory towards us. The unidentified object WTF1190F, measuring 2 meters long, is set to smash into the Indian Ocean on Nov. 13.

The existence of WTF1190F had been known before and it was rediscovered by astronomers at the Catalina Sky Survey, located at the University of Arizona earlier this month, Daily Mail reported. The unknown object seems to be hollow inside while not much can be said until it gets closer to Earth and more detailed images are revealed.

According to European Space Agency (ESA), WTF1190F 'poses very little risk to anyone' and it will provide the scientists a rare opportunity to observe the impact of external objects hitting the Earth. Experts predict that most of its mass will burn away upon entering the thermosphere, without causing any formidable impact when the leftover space junk will finally collide.

Scientists first calculated WTF1190F's trajectory in 2012. However, the object could be wandering in space for 40 years based on the assumption that it could be a piece of Apollo Mission craft or other made-made objects sent to space. If that's true, it will become the first man-made object to return to Earth on its own.

Man-made space objects are rare events and they revolved in the distance orbits of the Earth, with virtually no chance to ever hit Earth. It is believed that nearly 20 more unidentified objects disassembled from human missions to space still exist in our space.

People should not be alarmed if they are called "UFOs" because any unknown flying object can be called a UFO. WTF1190F, is going to impact the Indian Ocean, about 40 miles (65km) off the southern tip of Sri Lanka, at 6:20 UTC on Nov. 13.
