Eminem and Britney Spears do have one thing in common: they both have co-starred with "Orange is the New Black" star Taryn Manning. In a recent interview, Manning talked about what it was like to work with the "Rap God" rapper and the "Womanizer" singer.
In 2002, Manning played Janeane in "8 Mile," which starred Eminem as Jimmy "R-Babbit" Smith with Kim Basinger as Stephanie Smith and Mekhi Phifer as David "Future" Porter. The film also starred the late Brittany Murphy as Alex.
The "OITNB" star told Details that when she approached Eminem the first time he saw him, his three huge bodyguards surrounded him thinking he was a fan who had gotten loose on the set. When she explained she was part of the "8 Mile" cast, the bodyguards "sort of parted the seas" and let him speak to her.
Manning said she got to know Eminem once they started filming "8 Mile." According to the "OITNB" star, the "Rap God" rapper has sense of humor. She described him as hilarious and a real goofball who is always cracking jokes.
In addition, Manning said she had a great connection with Eminem. In fact, the "Rap God" rapper added "Wastin' My Time" to the "8 Mile" soundtrack." It is one of the songs of Boomkat, the pop duo with the "OITNB" star and her brother Kellin Manning.
Almost 10 months before the release of "8 Mile" was the release of "Crossroads," which starred Spears, Manning, Zoe Saldana, Anson Mount, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Cattrall, Justin Long, Beverly Johnson, Bahni Turpin, Kool Moe Dee and Richard Voll, among others.
According to Manning, when they were shooting "Crossroads" in Louisiana, there were screaming little girls with their mothers and fans everywhere no matter where she looked on set. She said she has never experienced anything like that in her life.
While filming "Crossroads," Manning made a connection with Spears just like with Eminem. An old video of Eminem dressing up as Spears was recently released by MTV.
