Even if Britain is guarding its borders against terrorists from the Islamic State (IS), M15 Director General Andrew Parker warns that homegrown jihadists are planning mass casualty attacks in the UK.

To avert these threats, M15 has directed about 80 percent of the agency's manpower of 4,500 to prevent terror attacks, majority of which would likely come from IS elements in Syria. He adds that over 750 extreme terrorists from IS have entered Syria and their growth in numbers appears to be unabated.

The state security agency discovered these planned attacks by hacking the computers of the Islamic terrorists, reports The Telegraph. Because of these technology available to the government, M15 was able to foil six terror plans in the UK and seven more overseas.

M15 is using computer technology to help battle the IS since plots against Britain are inspired by the sophisticated exploitation of technology by the IS.

Parker shared these information at the Lord Mayor of London's yearly defense and security lecture on Wednesday. He describe the current threat, coming mostly from the IS, as the highest in his 32-year service in government.

Besides the threat from the IS, he adds the al-Qaeda remains a security threat to Britain also. Although six local and seven overseas attempts by IS jihadists at terrorist attacks "may not yet have reached the high water mark, and despite the successes we have had, we can never be confident of stopping everything," Parker stresses.

Because of these threats, even pranks, such as one made by a hotel staff at Club Hotel Pineta in Marmaris, Turkey, scared the wits out of British tourists. The employee wore a black robe and mask, chanted loudly in Arabic. He also went near a six-year-old girl and pretended to reach for a gun.

The stunt caused British tourists not only to scream and flee the place out of fear but also to sue their travel agency. While the employee was sowing fear among hotel guests by pretending to be an IS jihadist, his fellow employees were laughing, amused by the stupid stunt.
