Chinese romantic comedy film "Women Who Flirt" directed by Edmond Pang will hit theaters on Nov. 26 in the United States and Canada, on Nov. 27 in New Zealand and Australia, and on Nov. 28 in mainland China, ccording to Variety.
China Lion has set a Nov. 26 release date in North America and a Nov. 27 release in Australia and New Zealand. It releases on Friday, Nov. 28, in theaters in China.
To be released in North America and Canada in time for Thanksgiving, the film will open at four theaters in the Grand Theft Auto (GTA), which include Rainbow Cinemas Elgin Mills, The Star reported.
China Lion Film Distribution acquired the Mandarin-language film from IM Global.
Prior to its release date, Zhou Xun attended a press conference for the film in Beijing with her co-stars Xie Yilin and Sonia Sui.
Before "Women Who Flirt," China Lion Film Distribution has recently released "Breakup Buddies" and "But Always" in North America. The two films became the company's two highest grossing films in the region.
Luo Fu-Man wrote both the screenplay of "Women Who Flirt" and the book where it was based on. The film tells a story of Zhang Hui, played by Zhuo, who has a crush on her classmate, Xiao Gong, played by Huang Xiaoming.
However, Xiao Gong and Zhang Hui can only be friends because the former is pressured by him family to focus more on his studies rather than relationships. Still, the latter is so persistent that she finds a job in Shanghai just to stay close to the man she likes.
Things become complicated when Xiao Gong comes back from a business trip in Taiwan with a new girlfriend. Still persistent, Zhang Hui asks help from her friends who have mastered the art of flirting.
Zhuo has just finished filming "The Rising Sun" and is currently filming "Red Sorghum," while Huang also stars in "Hollywood Adventures" and "The Crossing."
