The air-conditioned 100-bed facility, which has a digital system for keeping documents, was completed on Tuesday and will start taking in patients next week, according to officials of the Chinese Embassy in the West African country, said a Yahoo report.

The treatment center is situated in the parking lot of a stadium.

Cui Li, vice minister of China's National Health and Family Planning Commission, said during the dedication ceremony for the facility that China treasures its relationship with Liberia, and it was for this reason that the project was initiated and finished within a month after getting the approval of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Cui, who headed the Chinese delegation to the dedication ceremony, said that 500 Chinese medical staff will be stationed in the center for six months to monitor people suspected of having Ebola and treat confirmed patients.

The team will also train Liberian health care workers in handling cases.

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf hailed China's extensive assistance in Liberia's fight against Ebola during a speech.

"We reached out to our partners and one of the first to respond was China because China sent an aircraft that brought in some of the first equipment, materials and medicine," the president said.

China has extended about 7.5 billion yuan ($122 million) worth of assistance to Ebola-stricken countries in West Africa since the start of the disease's oubreak.

The country has also sent 500 medical workers and health experts to help with the treatment of patients and prevent the further spread of the disease.
