Taiwanese diva Jolin Tsai thanks her fans for their support throughout her 15 years in the industry through a free anniversary mini-concert Monday evening.
During the concert, the 43-year-old singer and dancer expressed her gratitude to her fans for their unending support and also took the time to promote her latest album entitled "Play."
Warner Music Taiwan, her record label since 2009, spent about $300,000 to pay for stage design, lighting and musical score as well as three brand-new outfits she wore during the concert.
Flaunting a golden mini-dress embellished with golden snakes, Jolin and eight backups danced sexily to the tune of her new single entitled "Medusa."
During the evening, the pop diva flaunted another of her new outfits--a revealing feather dress--while singing her second single "The Third Person and I," which she initially performed with Carina Lau in the official music video.
Jolin Tsai, who is also known as "Asia's Dancing Queen" because of her diverse dancing styles including pole dancing, ribbon dancing, and gymnastic moves, was timid during her childhood before she developed her interest in music.
Born on Sept. 15, 1980, Jolin debuted in her singing career at the age of 18 when she won at an MTV singing competition where she sang her version of Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All."
After that, she was signed by Universal Music Taiwan in 1998 and worked with them until 2001. During her time with Universal Music, she released her first single, "Living with the World."
Following the success of her first single, Universal Music decided that she was ready for her first album "Jolin 1019," which was released in Sept. 1999.
After her contract with Universal Music ended in 2001, Sony Music Entertainment took her in and helped her achieve the biggest break in her career--her fifth album entitled "Magic"--which sold over 300,000 copies in Taiwan and more than 1 million copies all over Asia.
In 2006, she was then signed with EMI Music Taiwan's label-Capitol Records and later with Warner Music.
