"Wolverine 3" will feature new X-Men characters joining Logan, film production preparations and possible plot details based on "Old Man Logan."

It seems that productions for "Wolverine 3" will likely start sometime in 2016 as "Pan" star Hugh Jackman is currently helping director James Mangold with the film script, to which the draft contained over 60 pages without any sequence treatment, Venture Capital Post reported.

Jackman added that their is still not exact date for the production and will it not start until the script is perfectly done as he wanted his performance in "Wolverine 3" to be a memorable one. It is hinted that the storyline for "Wolverine 3" will be based on Mark Miller and Steve McNiven's comicbook story "Old Man Logan" and Jackamn has been teasing fans about it during the X-Men: Apocalypse panel in San Diego Comic Con.

Mangold has also shown great interest in "Old Man Logan" since last year and it looks as though that he and fans will get their wishes soon.

Aside from the film production, new rumors are making rounds that other X-Men characters could be joining "Wolverine 3" soon.

Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) is one of the X-Men members that was confirmed to join Logan/Wolverine (Jackman) last adventure and it is hinted that their relationship could be that of "father and son". Several X-Men character that rumored to join them include Rogue, Mystique, Storm, Magneto and Jean Grey, Moviepilot reported.

Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) has already appeared in "The Wolverine" as a ghost that haunted Logan's dreams ever since he was forced to kill her in "X-Men: The Last Stand".

Rogue (Anna Paquin) and Storm (Halle Berry) are two of Logan's closest friends as he treats Rogue as a surrogate daugther, while he is in friendly grounds with Storm, but will likely develop into a romantic relationship soon.

Magneto (Sir Ian Mckellan) and Mystique (Rebecca Romijin) in "Wolverine 3" could have an interesting dynamic in the film knowing how Logan despise them as enemies, but it could present side of them that they have yet shown to one another in past films.

Other characters that rumored to show up in "Wolverine 3" include Omega Red and Laura Kinney/X-23. Jackman also teased fans that Victor Creed/Sabretooth's (Liev Schreiber) return and berserker rage in the film.

"Wolverine" will release in cinemas on March 3, 2017.
