Barely a month after it was forced offline by the MPAA, the YTS/YIFY team appears to be back with the same form of services familiar to torrent fans - high quality movies in small size, a choice of 720p, 1080p or 3D format for some titles and automatic subtitle links. But the new operation, a report said, is branded as fake in the torrent community.

The new YTS site claims to be the "official YTS website," that bears the tagline - "Download HD movies at the smallest size." The same greeted users of the old site and indeed visitors of the domain name YTS.ag are treated to the services that became the YIFY ID - relatively good movie rips in sizes no larger than 2GB for each download.

And all movie titles are connected to YIFYSubtitles.com, the same subtitle source of the old domains YTS.to and YTS.re.

However, a Torrent Freak report claims that the new website is run by impostors and not in any way connected to the original YIFY team. It appears too that the new people behind the new YTS are the same team responsible for the hostile takeover of EZTV, popular for its free TV shows, earlier this 2015.

"The site, which is connected to the people who hijacked EZTV earlier this year, want the public to believe that they are the real YTS. They misleadingly use the name of a member of the real YTS team, for example, and suggest that YTS simply decided to move to a new domain," the report said.

And to formalize its role as the new YTS, the operators are seeking partnership with key torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay, Kickass Torrents and ISOHunt. "We would like to partnership with you and add our new releases to your website," Torrent Freak quoted a letter sent out by the group as saying. The letter was signed by a William of YTS.ag.

The letter also admitted that YTS.ag is yet to get the official nod from YIFY, saying that "we could not reach them."

But the response so far from the recipients of the letter is largely negative. According to Torrent Freak, file-sharing sites are mostly preventing the YTS.ag releases from being indexed on their sites with Kickass Torrents clear on its condition that YTS.ag needs to use a label unrelated to the YTS/YIFY brand if they want to see their releases on KAT.

The Pirate Bay or TPB, on the other hand, is yet to display any of the YTS.ag releases. What the site still hosts are old YIFY uploads with the latest torrents dated October 20.

However, the YTS.ag not the real YTS/YIFY appears to be a non-issue to torrent fans as thousands have flocked to the site, "sharing the YTS.ag releases as if nothing ever happened," Torrent Freak said.
