Kara did much soul-searching in "Supergirl" Season 1 Episode 3.
"Supergirl" Season 1 Episode 3 is entitled "Fight Or Flight." According to Flickering Myth, standard issue life lessons were given to the audience, who did not easily find satisfaction from "high production values" and "quality effects." While the actors put their best shot with the material, something still felt lacking, as per the publication.
In Episode 3, Supergirl inadvertently revealed to Cat Grant that she was Superman's cousin. The superheroine was then attacked by Reactron, who wanted to kill her to seek revenge against Superman; however, she was able to take him down.
Reactron went to LORD Technology labs and abducted Maxwell Lord to have the latter fix his suit. Kara also discovered that a reactor Superman stopped in the past killed Reactron's wife. She went to Reactron's hideout to save Lord, but she was severely injured by the villain; fortunately, Superman came to save her.
Kara got angry at James for calling Superman for help. For Kara, she did not want to depend on the latter. In a party organized by Grant, Reactron broke in to find Supergirl. James distracted Reactron while Supergirl covered her hand with lead, so she could safely distract the power core in Reactron's suit.
Episode 3 also revealed that James had a former fiancé, Lucy Lane, the younger sister of Lois Lane. Lucy came to National City to recover their relationship.
Meanwhile, Kara is set to be polarized when she babysits Grant's son while making an attempt to halt an array of bombings in "Supergirl" Season 1 Episode 4, which is entitled "How Does She Do It?" According to Spoilers Guide, Episode 4 would see Kara's two identities, which would be "stretched thin," as she protects National City from a series of bombings.
Kara would also be tasked with babysitting Carter, Grant's son. The episode would also see James facing a tough situation when his former girlfriend, Lucy Lane, seeks to revive their relationship.
"Supergirl" Season 1 Episode 3, "Fight or Flight," aired on Nov. 9 while Episode 4 "How Does She Do it?" airs on Nov. 16.
