If bending cases was the headache for Apple when the iPhone 5 was released in 2014, for the newly launched iPad Pro, the problem is the tablet shutting off in the middle of charging the device.
It was Ubergizmo that spotted complaints about the new product of Apple which CEO Tim Cook even boasted would make people no longer want to buy PCs or laptops. The tech website found the issue in Apple support communities which could become a "Chargegate" scandal for the Cupertino-based giant.
Techradar reports that multiple iPad Pro owners noticed that their units which they left plugged for charging were completely dead and unresponsive. It frustrated many early adopters because they had to hard reset the device to bring it back to life.
The time that the iPad Pro goes dead while being charged varies, from just a few minutes after the gadget is plugged to after one hour or longer. One owner tried to switch of the charger to see if the problem would be solved, but it did not, which indicates it could be a software issue.
Some owners say the problem was solved when they installed iOS 9.2 beta 3, such as what K1 ckdapro did. However, another owner, Dr Bgh, recommends shutting the iPad Pro before charging it so the tablet would boot up fine the next morning.
The four to five weeks wait time for these two accessories have been described by John Gruber, an influential Apple blogger, as "joyless."
Meanwhile, those who have the iPad Pro but are still waiting for the shipment of their Pencil and Smart Keyboard orders are also frustrated because shipment for U.S. and UK customers have been moved by a month, reports Businessinsider.
