"Black-ish" season 2 episode 8 was all about of bonding between father and son and how their relationship changes for good over the issue of haircut.

"Black-ish" season 2 episode 8, titled "Chop Shop," saw the Johnsons preparing up for the Christmas card photo shoot.

While girls, Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross), Zoe (Yara Shahidi) and Diane (Marsai Martin), are working on their style and elegance, Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Junior (Marcus Scribner) decided to get a haircut.

But Dre felt offended when Junior announced that he will try a new barber this time. Junior got an amazing haircut from his new barber Smoke (guest star comedian Keraun Harris aka King Keraun) while Dre's hairline got totally messed up and he ended up becoming the butt of family's jokes.

Dre had visited his regular barber T (guest star Barry Shabaka Henley) who in turn has ruined his hair. Bow persuaded Dre to visit Smoke instead but the latter refused to "betray" his childhood barber.

Bow consulted Ruby (Jenifer Lewis) as she was freaking out that the family's Christmas card shoot will be spoiled owing to Dre's messed up hair. Ruby came over and changed the theme of the shoot to elegance, even proposing the idea of "Empire" themed Christmas Card wherein she would play lead character Cookie while Bow was offered to pose as Rhonda.

Meanwhile, Dre fished out the contact number of Smoke from Junior's cell phone and fixed an appointment but was mocked upon when he visited the barber shop. Even T was astonished what went wrong with his hair, causing Dre to get more furious.

After a break of one week, Dre decided to pay a visit to celebrity barber, one who cuts the hair of Matt Kemp, Usher and Dennis Haysbert, but Junior pledged to stay loyal to Smoke. However, during his next visit, he too got a taste of betrayal when Smoke ruined his haircut owing to an argument over R.Kelly.
