In a statement obtained by Game Spot, Klei Entertainment said, "As with Don't Starve and Reign of Giants, we're going to be using early access up until the full release of Shipwrecked."

"Your feedback and suggestions were invaluable during the development of past Don't Starve content and frankly, we'd be fools to not involve you again when it comes to the development of Shipwrecked," Klei Entertainment added.

The Steam Early Access version of "Don't Starve: Shipwrecked" is described by Klei Entertainment as "fully playable." However, the company added that it still requires some work to done in order to be fully polished and promises to add more creatures, seasons, biomes as well as "many other exciting ways to die," according to PC Gamer.

The Steam Early Access release of "Don't Starve: Shipwrecked" on Dec. 1 will be exclusive to Windows. The game's developer has yet to confirm whether the game will find its way to other platform.

"Don't Starve: Shipwrecked," as the title suggests, will allow players to journey across water. This is an improvement from previous versions of the game where players are limited to explore land area and cannot access bodies of water.
