According to latest reports, Android Marshmallow update is now rolling out to Moto G (2014).

The Moto G (2014) was one of the first smartphones to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update back in 2014. However, the smartphone was one of the last to receive the Android 5.0.2 update.

Earlier this year, the electronics manufacturer Motorola confirmed a slew of its handsets would get Android M updates, as expected, beginning with the new Moto X. A few updates have rolled out for owners outside of the United States, none have arrived in the US.

However, according to a Neurogadget report, the soak test for the Moto G (2nd Gen) has already begun, and the Android 6.0 M update could be here sooner rather than later.

The Moto G (2014) users have begun receiving OTA software update notifications, which are for a big 400MB update taking their handsets from Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to Android Marshmallow.

Please note that this is not the actual update for all Moto G (2014) users just yet, and instead is the final soak test by the company.

Reports suggest that many owners of Moto G (2nd Gen) have got the Android Marshmallow update, meaning that the update for all users throughout the US and around the world could arrive within the next week or two.

Android Marshmallow update brings a number of changes and improvements. Moto G (2014) users can expect several new animations and effects, and a few software changes. The new update brings Android Pay, Google Now on Tap, better security and permission controls and Doze battery life improvements, Venture Capital Post reported.

It is important to note that this is a soak test and if all goes well and no issues come up, the global rollout could begin early this week or before the end of November.

The electronics maker has confirmed rolling out the Android Marshmallow update to a bunch of other handsets under the DROID, Moto E and Moto G lineups.
