After its release on Nov. 16, 2012, Condon's "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" grossed an estimated total of $141 million on its opening weekend. The romance fantasy film got an estimated domestic gross of $292 million, coupled with an estimated foreign gross of $537 million, for a total of $830 million.

Overall, the figures indicate that Lawrence's conclusive film failed to surpass Condon's 2012 "Twilight" film. On the other hand, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2" topped Sam Mendes' James Bond action film "Spectre, Steve Martino's animated film "The Peanuts Movie," Jonathan Levine's comedy film "The Night Before," and Billy Ray's thriller film " The Secret in their Eyes."

According to The Wrap, while Lawrence's film "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" managed to strongly ascend its aim with $46 million on Nov. 20, it had missed to hit the projected weekend total of $120 million.

The $101 million opening weekend gross of Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" was the lowest among all installments of the film franchise, since "The Hunger Games," "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" opened with an estimated $153 million, $158 million, and $121 million, respectively.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is the final film of Suzanne Collins' best-selling young adult saga. The film stars Sam Clafflin, Jena Malone, Evan Ross, Natalie Dorner, Elizabeth Banks, Gwendoline Christie, Julianne Moore, Mahershala Ali, Willow Shields, Donald Sutherland, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen the Mockingjay, among others.
