A new software called Remote Play PC was released on Nov. 25, Wednesday, for $10. The software will allow PlayStation 4 owners to stream games from their console into a desktop computer. The software was created by a programmer going by the handle Twisted.

The announcement was posted on Twisted's official blog and claims that the programmer has been working on the software as a side project for more than a year. The initial plan was to release the software for free. However, Twisted is planning to work on the project full-time, hence the software was released for a price.

Twisted is planning to port the software into other platforms as well as develop it in order to create a more stable version as well as additional features. The programmer claims that in order to achieve that the project demands time as well as operational cost.

Remote Play PC works by injecting codes into the PlayStation 4 and making it believe that the desktop PC is just a regular remote play device like the PlayStation Vita. The software will not require a lot of computing power from the PC since all the processing work are being done on the PlayStation 4 console.

Unlike most console emulators that require massive computing specs to work, Remote Play PC can run even on a laptop computer. Twisted has yet to release the official minimum PC requirements in order to run Remote Play PC.

According to Independent, Remote Play PC is an unofficial piece of software and has no direct connection with Sony. This means that the software can be blocked anytime.
