iPhone 6 has a water resistant feature, which has never been highlighted during the marketing phase. Apple has not revealed the feature; however, it was accidentally discovered by tear-down professionals in the industry.

It is said that the company has dedicated time and effort for a technology that will let the iPhone devices to eject water or any type of liquid through the use of electricity and sound, BGR reported.

The iPhone patent also referred to as "Liquid Expulsion From an Orifice" is described as a special technique of repulsing liquids collected in certain areas of the iPhone, especially in its microphone and speaker.

The said liquid protection patent will allow the technology to detect if there is any moisture inside the phone by using acoustic sensors or moisture sensors. It will then use electrical currents to move the water content out of a cavity. Conductive activity will then make other parts attract liquids.

Another patent discovery with regards to this waterproofing feature of the iPhone is named "Electronic devices with housing port shutters," which is directed more to the physical and mechanical aspect of the phone. Seals or shutters are placed on possible entry points of the iPhone such as speakers, microphones and the headphone jack.

The iPhone port shutters close down once liquid gets detected by its accompanying sensors. This will then prevent liquid from getting inside the iPhone, Apple Insider reported.

However, Apple has not responded to the rumors yet.
