Terry Rossio script hasn't found any sympathy at Disney. Later when Jeff Nathanson was signed in January 2013, even his script was not well received, remarking it as "not only too expensive but also very complicated and hard to follow."

Later an outline from Nathanson was well received in early 2014. According to Nathanson and the team, "the script is very fresh and different, and is packed with elements going back to the roots of the initial setting," and Johnny Depp adding, "it might probably been the last film in the series."

With a budget of $250M on the table, and the film being distributed by Walt Disney Studios and Motion Pictures, the initial photography started in Australia in February 2015, after the Australian Government offered Disney $20M of tax incentives.

Captain Salazar, along with his crew of ghost pirates who manages to escape the Devil's Triangle, is determined much more than ever to kill all the pirates at the sea including Jack Sparrow. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is expected to release on July 7, 2017.
