The Chinese government plans to strengthen intellectual property rights (IPR) implementation up to 2020 through various strategies, Xinhua reported.
The State Council General Office emphasized on the goals and measures for IPR generation, use, protection and management for the said period.
In 2008, China drafted the framework of the national IPR strategy which focuses to increase self-directed IPR, improve protection and the country's IPR awareness over five years.
The latest plan says that the success of the first five-year goals has essentially been achieved.
Development and implementation of the proposed strategy paves way to future economic growth and improvement.
It presented a thorough report of the actions taken for the IPR strategy's full implementation, including its promotion, creation and use, as well as solidifying protection, strengthening supervision and widening international alliances.
In addition to the plan, emphasis will be given to three fundamental projects, namely, IPR information services, talent drill, and statistics and monitoring.
IPR information will be accessible to the public either for free or at a lower cost.
In order to raise awareness and education to citizens, IPR performance score and related contents will be added to school curricula and other forms of law education by the national accounts system, the report said.
Intellectual property rights have been protecting the Chinese nation since they have been acknowledged in 1979. This applies to the areas of trademark, copyright and patent which have been established through government regulations, decrees and administrative regulations. From these, construction of legal framework has been progressing over the years to attain a secure level of enforcement in preventing any case of copyright violations.
