Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War" is coming to theaters soon and in line with this, Frank Grillo gave his thoughts on how Crossbones would impact the story.
Grillo is set to play Crossbones in the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War." It was seen in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" that HYDRA operative Brock Rumlow had been retrieved from the crumbled Tirskelion. While the character was severely injured in the previous film, he is now back to the game board.
The actor suggested that Rumlow had gotten angry over his fate at the end of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." In his interview with The Huffington Post, Grillo said that the character had been in bad shape and that had been because of Captain America.
Grillo added that Crossbones was not a happy guy and there was nothing that was going to get in the way of the character doing what he was set out to do. While Crossbones was described as a character devoid of happiness, Grillo also said that the villain was out for a good time and was going to have fun.
Crossbones' exact role in the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" has not yet been revealed, despite fans having seen Grillo in the villain's suit in May, according to Cinema Blend. Nonetheless, the character is rumored to be involved in the international incident that led to the rise of the Sokovia Accords. It is also vague at this point if Crossbones is on his own or working for HYDRA or Baron Zemo.
In June, Grillo also hinted that Crossbones would be bringing a lot more "mayhem" in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, which suggested that the villain may survive in "Captain America: Civil War" and re-appear in the Russos' "Avengers: Infinity War."
The Russos' "Captain America Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016.
